DiscoverE Children’s Programs
Prince Gallitzin State Park
DiscoverE: Explore, Experience, Enjoy!
Discover things wet and wonderful at Prince Gallitzin State Park! Free children’s programs are being offered at the park this summer, as part of the Pennsylvania State Parks’ DiscoverE series for children ages 4-12. DiscoverE provides a variety of activities to meet developmental levels and social skills of different age groups. Participants progress from one level to another, continually growing in knowledge and skills. Programs being offered are as follows:
Pirates at the Prince (ages 9-12)
Prepare for “high-seas” adventure in this two-day program for upper-elementary age children. Discover watersheds and wetlands through pirate-themed exploration, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
Soggy Boggy Critters (ages 4-5)
Learn about fish, frogs, dragonflies and other animals who live in and around wet places. Crafts, games, songs and hands-on exploration are all part of this two-day program for young children.
Wild, Wet & Wonderful (ages 6-8)
Investigate watery habitats in this two-day program for early-elementary age children. Have fun discovering plants and animals at the water’s edge through hands-on exploration, crafts and other fun activities with a piratey twist!
Pre-registration is required for these programs. For more information or to obtain an application, stop by the park office or contact Beth Garner, Environmental Education Specialist, at 814-674-1000 ext. 105 or by email at email@example.com.
