STABBING AT PENN STATE

FOLKS ARE ON ALERT AT PENN STATE’S UNIVERSITY PARK CAMPUS AFTER A MAN SLIT THE THROAT OF A 40 YEAR OLD PENN STATE GRAD STUDENT WHILE SHE WAS BIKING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. IT HAPPENED AROUND 2:30 NEAR SUNSET PARK OFF VAIRO BOULEVARD. THE KNIFE DID NOT HIT AN ARTERY AND THE WOMAN BIT THE MAN’S HAND TO GET AWAY. SHE WAS TREATED AND RELEASED AT MOUNT NITTANY MEDICAL CENTER. THE ATTACKER FLED AND POLICE SEARCHED FOR HIM ON FOOT, THROUGH THE AIR, AND USING POLICE DOGS, BUT HE GOT AWAY. AUTHORITIES DON'T THINK THE VICTIM KNEW HER ATTACKER, AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA ON A MOTIVE. THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MAN, ABOUT 5-FOOT-8, 20 TO 30 YEARS OLD, WITH A SLIM- TO MEDIUM BUILD AND FACIAL HAIR.HE WAS WEARING BLACK CLOTHING, A GRAY JACKET AND A BACKPACK.

NURSING HOME OWNER ORDERED TO TRIAL IN DEATH

A JUNIATA COUNTY WOMAN HAS BEEN ORDERED TO STAND TRIAL IN HUNTINGDON COUNTY ON CHARGES THAT SHE NEGLECTED A BLIND WOMAN WHO WAS FOUND DEAD IN A CREEK IN OCTOBER AFTER SHE WANDERED AWAY FROM SLEEPY HOLLOW PERSONAL CARE HOME IN BLAIRS MILLS. 70 YEAR OLD SALLY JEAN FULTZ ALSO SUFFERED FROM DEMENTIA. 62 YEAR OLD CONNIE SOUDERS APPEARED AT A PRELIMINARY HEARING YESTERDAY. HER NEXT COURT APPEARANCE IS SET FOR JANUARY 31ST.

FORMER COP WILL ENTER GUILTY PLEA IN BEATING

THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT FORMER ALTOONA POLICE OFFICER ERIC KRINER PLANS TO PLEAD GUILTY DECEMBER 20TH TO LESSER CHARGES FOR HIS INVOLVEMENT IN A BEATING BACK IN 2010 AT PELLEGRINE’S LOUNGE. SANDUSKY SCANDAL

ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS, FORMER PENN STATE VICE PRESIDENT GARY SHULTZ HAS FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST UNIVERSITY COUNSEL CYNTHIA BALDWIN, SAYING SHE VIOLATED ATTORNEY-CLIENT PRIVILEGE. WHEN HE TESTIFIED BEFORE THE GRAND JURY ABOUT JERRY SANDUSKY, SHULTZ SAYS HE THOUGHT BALDWIN WAS REPRESENTING HIM, BUT SHE CLAIMS SHE WAS REPRESENTING THE UNIVERSITY AND SHE TESTIFIED AGAINST HIM. THE CIVIL SUIT AGAINST BALDWIN SEEKS UN-SPECIFIED DAMAGES FOR WHAT'S REFERRED TO AS "LEGAL LIABILITY". FORMER ATHLETIC DIRECTOR TIM CURLEY ALSO THOUGHT BALDWIN WAS REPRESENTING HIM.

ACCUSED RAPIST SURRENDERS

39 YEAR OLD GEORGE IRVIN OF WINDBER TURNED HIMSELF IN YESTERDAY AND IS NOW IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY JAIL ON 200-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND. IRVIN IS ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ABUSING A YOUNG GIRL OVER A 7 YEAR PERIOD, STARTING WHEN SHE WAS 8. JOHNSTOWN POLICE SAY THE ABUSE ALLEGEDLY TOOK PLACE IN JOHNSTOWN AND DALE BORO

JURY CONVICTS CHILD RAPIST

A BEDFORD COUNTY JURY YESTERDAY CONVICTED 55 YEAR OLD STEPHEN WEAVER OF SCHELLSBURG ON ONE COUNT EACH OF RAPE AND INVOLUNTARY DEVIATE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE AND 20 COUNTS OF INDECENT ASSAULT. THE CASE INVOLVED 2 YOUNG FEMALE RELATIVES WHO WERE TEENAGERS AT THE TIME. THE JURY FOUND WEAVER NOT GUILTY ON 320 OTHER COUNTS. HE’LL BE SENTENCED AFTER A MEGAN’S LAW EVALUATION.

MARCH AT PENN STATE

A GROUP CALLED “PSU FOR ALL STUDENT EQUALITY” IS HOLDING A PEACEFUL MARCH THROUGH CAMPUS AT NOON TODAY TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND SOLIDARITY. THE EVENT WAS ORGANIZED AFTER PENN STATE’S CHI OMEGA SORORITY WAS PLACED ON PROBATION FOR POSTING RACIALLY-INSENSITIVE PHOTOS OF A MEXICAN-THEMED HALLOWEEN PARTY ON SOCIAL MEDIA. THE MARCH STARTS AT PENNYPACKER HALL IN EAST HALLS. THEY WILL WALK INTO THE HEART OF CAMPUS WITH A STOP AT OLD MAIN. THE GROUP SAYS IT IS DENOUNCING “ALL FORMS OF RACISM, SEXISM, CLASSISM, AND HOMOPHOBIA.”

SYNTHETIC DRUG SALES IN ST. COLLEGE

48-YEAR-OLD JOHN O’KEEFE OF FRACKVILLE USED TO OWN DRAGON CHASERS EMPORIUM IN DOWNTOWN STATE COLLEGE AND HE WAS ARRAIGNED YESTERDAY IN BERKS COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY O’KEEFE IS CHARGED WITH SELLING SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA AND OTHER SYNTHETIC SUBSTANCES IN CENTRE, BERKS AND SCHUYLKILL COUNTIES. AUTHORITIES SEIZED OVER 916-THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM O’KEEFE’S STATE COLLEGE BANK AND AN ADDITIONAL NEARLY 1-POINT-7 MILLION FROM BANKS IN BERKS AND SCHUYLKILL COUNTIES.
