2 MEN KILLED

48 YEAR OLD DEAN BLOUGH OF BERLIN DIED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHEN HIS SPEEDING CAR STRUCK A SCHOOL VAN THEN FLIPPED OVER SEVERAL TIMES ALONG LAMBERTSVILLE ROAD NEAR SHANKSVILLE IN SOMERSET COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY BLOUGH WAS FIRST INVOLVED IN ANOTHER HIT AND RUN CRASH ALONG STUTZMANTOWN ROAD. BLOUGH’S PASSENGER, 49 YEAR OLD GEORGIANN RUSCHAK OF OHIO WAS FLOWN TO JOHNSTOWN’S MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER. NO WORD ON HER CONDITION. THE OTHER 2 DRIVERS WERE NOT HURT.

65 YEAR OLD DONALD TRULICK OF BELLEFONTE WAS KILLED IN A WRECK THURSDAY EVENING ON STATE ROUTE 64 BETWEEN PLEASANT GAP AND ZION IN CENTRE COUNTY. SPRING TOWNSHIP POLICE SAY TRULICK’S CAR AND A TRACTOR-TRAILER CRASHED NEAR THE GLENN O. HAWBAKER QUARRY. AUTHORITIES DO NOT THINK ALCOHOL OR SPEEDING WERE FACTORS.

POLICE LATER LEARNED THAT BYLER’S CAR HAD ALSO HIT A PICKUP OVERNIGHT ON EAST LAUREL STREET.

SANDUSKY SCANDAL

THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE IS ASKING THE STATE SUPREME COURT TO DENY JERRY SANDUSKY’S APPEAL.
