man killed in altoona shooting
A HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES IN ALTOONA. The Blair County Coroner has confirmed THAT 37 year-old Stephen Hackney OF WASHINGTON D-C died after being shot MULTIPLE TIMES aT A HOUSE AT 124 Walnut Avenue around 1 Saturday MORNING. AUTHORITIES SAY A Neighbor CALLED TO REPORT A HOME INVASION ROBBERY IN PROGRESS…AND WHEN POLICE ARRIVED HACKNEY WAS DEAD. Hackney WAs livING in thAT house with a woman AND A CHILD, BUT TheY wERE not home at the time of the shooting. HACknEY DID JAIL TIME FOR A DRIVE-BY SHOOTING IN ALTOONA BACK IN 2006.
34 YEAR OLD SALIM NEEDHAM OF TANNERSVILLE SUFFERED SERIOUS INJURIES JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT SATURDAY WHEN HIS CAR CRAShED ALONG I-99 IN SPRING TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY Needham WAS GOING between 70 and 80 miles per hour when he lost control AND hit a guardrail, THEN flipped OVER. Needham was ejected from the VEHICLE before it caught fire. HE was taken to UPMC Altoona with severe head trauma. Police say alcohol may be a factor. They are still investigating.

ISSAH Is CHARGed with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. 5 months AGO, Issah was BUSted for tRYing to pass counterfeit money at a McDonald’s in Harrisburg. HE WAS released FROM His letter of intent after ThE first arrest.

The trial to decide whether Pennsylvania’s voter ID law is constitutional is starting today. Opponents say the law discriminates against people who do not have an ID. Those in favor of the law say identification is free, easily available to everyone and will provide protection against fraud. 9 days have been set aside for the trial.

Pennsylvania deer hunters can start sending in antlerless deer license applications today. after the first 3 weeks, Non-residents may also apply. beginning Monday, August 5th, residents and nonresidents alike may apply for any unsold licenses that remain. The second round of unsold license sales is set to begin on Monday, August 19th. Applications received before the Monday start of any round will be returned to sender.
