FIRE SPREADING

HOUSE FIRE NEAR HUNTINGDON

CREWS ARE ON THE SCENE OF A 2-STORY HOUSE FIRE IN WALKER TOWNSHIP, WEST OF HUNTINGDON BORO.

2 IN CUSTODY FOR COURTHOUSE BOMB THREAT

THE CAMBRIA COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN EBENSBURG WAS SHUT DOWN FOR A WHILE YESTERDAY…AND NOW Police HAVE arrestED a man and a woman in connection with THE bomb threats. 50 YEAR OLD Stephen Jablonski was PICKed UP in the Moxham neighborhood of Johnstown Tuesday afternoon. BOMB-SNIFFING DOGS SEARCHED THE COURTHOUSE AND FOUND NO EXPLOSIVES. POLICE TRACKED DOWN THE SUSPECTS AFTER VIEWING SURVEILLANCE VIDEO FROM THE RICHLAND TOWNSHIP WALMART WHERE THE PHONE USED TO MAKE THE THREAT WAS PURCHASED.

BANK ROBBER SENTENCED

A CAMBria COUNTY JUDGE YESTERDAY SENTENCED 23 YEAR OLD ANTHONY POUKISH OF Johns­town TO 5 TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON. ACCORDING TO THE TRIBUNE DEMOCRAT, POUKISH TOLD THE JUDGE he robbed FIRST NATIONAL BANK ON WALNUT STREET AT GUNPOINT BACK IN JUNE because he was tired of helping others. HE RECEIVED A concurrent sentence for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl HE MET ON Facebook.

SENTENCED FOLLOWING CRIME SPREE

A BLAIR COUNTY JUDGE THIS WEEK SENTENCED 30 YEAR OLD SHAWN BECK OF East Freedom TO 9 TO 18 YEARS IN A STATE PRISON. BECK told THE JUDGE he RETURNED TO USING drugS because of "family problems."

SCAM ARTIST BUSTED AGAIN

The Altoona mirror REPORTS 25 YEAR OLD SHAWN PRICE OF Altoona HAS BEEN ARRESTED AGAIN AND CHARGED WITH TAKING MONEY FROM ELDERLY VICTIMS TO DO ODD JOBS, BUT HE NEVER COMPLETED THE WORK. PRICE TOLD POLICE BE USED THE MONEY TO BUY HEROIN. LAST YEAR, PRICE WAS convicted of cheating victims in a driveway sealer scam and was sentenced to 2 years' probation.

GAS PRICES UP, UP, UP

Western Pa gas prices keep climbing…up almost 6 cents to $3.72 a gallon this week according to triple A FUEL GAUGE. Today’s national average is $3.67…2 cents more than last week, 14 cents more than one month ago and 15 cents more than the same date last year. Refineries are required to start producing summer-blend gasoline by May 1ST, and SOME go off-line for scheduled maintenance AT THIS TIME OF YEAR.
