A MISSING ALTOONA MAN HAS BEEN FOUND DEAD. STATE POLICE IN CAMBRIA COUNTY SAY 42 YEAR OLD JAMMIE LEE HAUSER WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHEN HE CRASHED HIS MOTORCYCLE INTO A TELEPHONE POLE ALONG ROUTE 53 IN DEAN TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY, SOMETIME BETWEEN SATURDAY EVENING AND TUESDAY MORNING. HE THEN HIT A TREE BRANCH, A DITCH, AND A TREE AND WAS THROWN INTO THE WOODS. HAUSER…WHO HAS A HISTORY OF CARDIAC ISSUES AND BI-POLAR DISORDER HAD BEEN REPORTED MISSING OVER THE WEEKEND.

STATE POLICE AND THE SOMERSET COUNTY CORONER SAY THE BODY OF 33 YEAR OLD ANTWAN DASH OF AKRON OHIO WAS FOUND ALONG THE BERM OF THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE, NEAR THE SOMERSET EXIT TUESDAY MORNING. HE HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE HEAD AND POLICE SAY THE MANNER OF DEATH IS PENDING FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY DETECTIVES HAVE GOTTEN A SEARCH WARRANT FOR THE CELLPHONE RECORDS BELONGING TO 2 FAMILY MEMBERS OF ALEX HRIBAL WHO IS CHARGED WITH STABBING 20 STUDENTS AND SECURITY GUARD AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN MURRYSVILLE BACK IN APRIL. THEY ARE TRYING TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE 16 YEAR OLD USED THE PHONES TO THREATEN ANY OF THE STUDENTS HE ATTACKED. HRIBAL’S ATTORNEY HAS SUGGESTED HE MAY HAVE BEEN BULLIED…AND SAYS HIS MENTAL HEALTH IS DETERIORATING. A HEARING HAS NOT YET BEEN SCHEDULED ON THE LAWYER’S REQUEST TO MOVE THE BOY TO A SECURE MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY. HE ALSO WANTS THE CASE TRANSFERRED TO JUVENILE COURT.

FOLLOWING THE SANDUSKY SCANDAL, A NEW REPORT SAYS PENN STATE’S UNIVERSITY PARK CAMPUS REPORTEDLY MORE SEX OFFENSES FROM 2010 TO 2012 THAN ANY OTHER MAJOR AMERICAN UNIVERSITY. ACCORDING TO THE WASHINGTON POST, THERE WERE 84 ALLEGED ASSAULTS. THAT WAS UP FROM 4 IN 2010 TO 56 IN 2012. SPOKESPERSON LISA POWERS SAYS 36 OF THE 63 OFFENSES LISTED IN THE 2013 REPORT ACTUALLY OCCURRED BETWEEN 1970 AND 2011 AND SOME OF THOSE REPORTS WERE MADE BY SANDUSKY’S VICTIMS. SCHOOLS ARE REQUIRED TO SEND THIS DATA TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, UNDER THE CLERY ACT LAW.

IN CENTRE COUNTY COURT YESTERDAY, 56 YEAR OLD PHILLIP COLTON OF OSCEOLA MILLS WAS CONVICTED OF SEXUALLY ABUSING A MENTALLY CHALLENGED GIRL ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE YOUNG VICTIM TOOK THE STAND AND TESTIFIED AGAINST COLTON TUESDAY MORNING.

GOVERNOR TOM CORBETT AND STATE LEGISLATORS ARE STILL LOCKED IN A FISCAL STALEMATE. CORBETT REFUSED TO SIGN A REPUBLICAN-PASSED BUDGET LATE MONDAY BECAUSE IT DID NOT ADDRESS PENSION REFORMS. THE HOUSE CONVENED YESTERDAY TO WORK ON A PENSION REFORM MEASURE, BUT SENT THE BILL TO COMMITTEE WHERE IT STALLED. THE GOVERNOR HAS NOT SAID IF HE WILL CALL A SPECIAL SESSION TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.

CENTRE COUNTY’S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE HAS FALLEN TO ITS LOWEST LEVEL IN 6 YEARS. THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRY SAYS IT DROPPED FROM 4-POINT-2 TO 4-POINT-1 PERCENT IN MAY. BLAIR COUNTY’S RATE DROPPED ONE-TENTH TO 5-POINT-5. THE STATE’S JOBLESS RATE WAS ALSO DOWN SLIGHTLY TO 5-POINT-6 PERCENT.
